Kaivac Systems Make the Grade for Large Mid-western School District

by | Jul 25, 2023

A large mid-western school district containing over 100 educational and administrative buildings relies on a fleet of No-Touch Cleaning® systems from Kaivac to service their restrooms. The newly adopted technology is a huge improvement over the rags, mops, and toilet swabs the team previously used.

“It only takes half the time to clean restrooms with the No-Touch Cleaning machines,” says the school district’s Operations Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds. “It is an easier process, and the custodians never have to touch any of the dirty surfaces. They love it.”

The Operations Supervisor understands first-hand how difficult and unpleasant it is to try to clean school restrooms with mops and rags. He used these old-fashioned tools when he began his career at the district as a part-time janitor in 1998. Searching for better results, he and his team tested a single No-Touch Cleaning system.

“I was impressed from the first time I tried it,” he says. “I like the idea of spraying every surface and then extracting the dirt. It is so much more effective than just spreading it around.” After observing a full year of improved cleaning results, the cleaning team and the district’s administrators were ready to upgrade, purchasing over 100 No-Touch Cleaning systems through Capital Sanitary Supply.

The change has brought improved results throughout the buildings. “All the restrooms are cleaner and definitely better smelling, “ according to the Supervisor. “Even the faculty and administrators have noticed. I get far fewer complaints, especially about odor.”

There is also a noticeable drop in cleaning chemical misuse, a problem that is all too common in the maintenance industry. “There is always potential for an issue any time custodians have to dilute chemicals themselves,” he says. “The Kaivac machines do the mixing for you, so you don’t have to worry.”

Overall, the Operations Supervisor and administrtors remains pleased with the upgrade. “We wanted to move away from mops and rags,” he says. “Now all the buildings are cleaner and better smelling. The No-Touch Cleaning systems help my team deliver healthier and safer environments for learning.”
