  • Cooler Case CleanerCooler Case Cleaner

Kaivac’s Cooler Case Cleaner offers a simple, effective solution for maintaining refrigerated display cases. With a specially designed, built-in indoor pressure washer and a powerful wet vacuum, the results are clean, safe and odor free coolers operating at peak efficiency. Plus, it takes less than half the time of conventional cleaning methods. Why is this important? Because a clean refrigeration unit is critical for optimum performance, and to ensure food safety and quality. Dirty or clogged evaporator coils are a leading cause of refrigeration inefficiency or even failure. Compromised food quality and safety can result in wasted food products and lost sales dollars — or worse. In addition, if not cleaned properly and frequently, the shelving and areas behind them can harbor potentially dangerous contaminants, creating a very high risk of biological contamination. Patent Pending.

The best way to deal with disease is not to treat it but to prevent it, and some strategies are rather simple. For example, experts agree that good personal hygiene is vital to preventing the spread of disease. Another critical component is hygienic cleaning of environmental surfaces, especially those that come into direct contact with skin. In fact, the more we understand about disease and how it is transferred, the more clear the importance of cleaning becomes. That's why so many environmental scientists consider it the first line of defense against infectious disease.

However, not all cleaning tools and methods are alike and not all achieve healthy results. It's important to understand the dangers of cross contamination and the tendency for many tools and processes to actually spread the problem. In fact, a growing number of environmental scientists maintain that it's actually better to not clean than to clean using ineffective methods.

Kaivac's Strategy: Remove it and Prove it

Kaivac believes that cleaning is the removal of all unwanted soils and substances, including the invisible realm of microbes, if it is to protect health. Regardless of whether cleaning a restroom, kitchen, classroom, or surgery suite the goal must be to remove the maximum amount of contaminants, both seen and unseen. Then, validate it through rapid hygiene measurement technology.

KaiBosh™ is an EPA-registered Hospital Use disinfectant that's effective against MRSA, Norovirus, Influenza (including Swine Flu), AIDS/HIV virus and more.

*Currently, there is no disinfectant that has specifically been tested in labs against Ebola and Enterovirus-68. However, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has found that disinfectants that are effective against Norovirus, like Kaivac's KaiBosh™, are recommended for environmental surfaces in rooms of patients with suspected or confirmed Ebola virus infection. Please see the CDC website for more details.

KaiVac® No-Touch Cleaning™ systems combine automatic chemical metering and injection, an indoor pressure washer, and a powerful wet vacuum into an integrated system, which is proven to be up to 60 times more effective in reducing bacterial contamination than mops.

KaiFly™, the squeegee-based flat surface cleaning system, rapidly removes potentially harmful bio-pollutants from desktops, tabletops, stalls, partitions and many more surfaces.  It removes 80 times more bacteria than standard wipes and cloths.

ATP Rapid Hygiene Measuring System is a universally recognized tool for quickly measuring the hygiene levels of surfaces in order to ensure consistent sanitation practices as well as public safety.

  • The Science and Technology of ATP

ATP is the primary energy transfer molecule present in all living biological cells on Earth. ATP cannot be produced or maintained by anything but a living organism, and as such, its measurement is a direct indication of biological activity.

  • Cleaning: Art or Science?

Is cleaning an art? Or is it really a science?  It's a question that is bound to get lots of responses from cleaning industry veterans with vigorous arguments being raised on both sides in favor of their respective points of view.  As a cleaning industry consultant with many years in the business, I've had an opportunity to consider the question and it is clear to me, and to a growing number of professionals in the industry, that cleaning is a science.

  • Kai-Leidoscope Survey Reveals How Subscribers Measure Cleaning Effectiveness

The April 2009 issue of Kai-Leidoscope, the monthly newsletter of Kaivac, Inc. (developers of the No-Touch Cleaning® system), asked its readers to complete a survey regarding how they measure cleaning effectiveness. The question evolved because Kaivac, along with such organizations as the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI), have been working to scientifically evaluate cleaning effectiveness and the importance of more effective cleaning through scientific research. However, the results of the study indicate that most cleaning professionals still do not use scientific measurement systems to determine cleaning effectiveness: Nearly thirty percent of the respondents reported that they measure the effectiveness of their cleaning programs "by my own overall view of the facility based on its appearance, smell, etc."About a quarter of the respondents said that they judge cleaning effectiveness based on feedback from their clients (building owners, managers or occupants).Sixteen percent of respondents indicated that they do in fact use scientific measurement tools and data, the most common of which are ATP rapid monitoring systems or similar devices.
