Clean Restrooms Better and Faster with No Touch

by | Jan 15, 2018

It’s long been documented that a business’s reputation lives or dies based on how clean or not clean people find the restroom. Article after article reveals the telling statistics: 86% of U.S. adults equate the cleanliness of a restaurant’s restroom with the cleanliness of its kitchen. But the sentiment is not limited to food service. Customers expect clean, odor-free restrooms in healthcare facilities, supermarkets, retail stores and even gas stations. Anything less will repel patrons and, if they get talking on social media, hurt business. Businesses need a no-touch cleaning solution for cleaning restrooms.

Two new mobile apps have just upped the clean restrooms stakes. For $2.99 a day Good2Go directs people to a network of clean, touchless public restrooms. If that’s too rich for your blood, toilet paper brand Charmin’s SitOrSquat app uses a GPS to locate nearby clean restroom spots for free. A green toilet paper icon means the location is clean enough to sit, red suggests squatting is in order.

Time Crunch to Clean School Restrooms

No business owner or facility manager sets out to have unpleasant facilities. But doing the job thoroughly by hand is time consuming and hard. An article in CleanLink estimates that the traditional method of cleaning a school restroom by hand takes about 45 minutes, while a stadium restroom can consume between two to three hours. This requires stocking all of the dispensers, collecting trash, dusting, sanitizing countertops and toiles, mopping the floors plus wiping down walls and partitions.

Mops Provide Limited Results

Even more disheartening, all of that time and elbow grease does not deliver. Hand cleaning leaves a lot of dirt, grime and odors behind. Mineral deposits and rings regularly collect around faucets and toilets while stains and grime stick to walls and partitions.

Cotton string mops cause even more trouble as they don’t remove dirt and soils as much as push them around. Dirty mop water, along with urine, gets drawn into porous grout where it breeds bacteria and gives off a nasty odor. This odor is almost impossible to remove, meaning a freshly-cleaned restroom will smell neither fresh nor clean.

A Better, Faster Way is No-Touch Cleaning

A no-touch cleaning system delivers better results and gets the job done faster. The machine sprays a cleaning solution in low pressure on all surfaces including floors, walls, toilets, countertops and mirrors. If a disinfecting product is used the liquid can dwell for the appropriate time while the cleaning professional restocks soap, towels and toilet paper. Surfaces are rinsed and the cleaning solution and soils are vacuumed up. The area is left clean, dry and ready to use with much less effort and a fraction of the time.
