Kaivac Enters AutoVac System into ISSA Innovation Contest
Kaivac, developer of the OmniFlex™ Crossover Cleaning system, has entered its new AutoVac floorcare system into this year's ISSA Innovation Award program in the "equipment" category.
The AutoVac, which has already been certified by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI), is designed to automate floorcare but at a fraction of the cost of a conventional automatic scrubber.
As part of the OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning system, the AutoVac starts with a specially engineered self-dispensing trolley bucket with a variable spigot. This ensures that only fresh cleaning solution is applied to the floor.
The AutoVac attaches to the trolley bucket, allowing users to "spread-and-vac" for complete floor cleaning. Tests indicate the system cleans up to 16,000 square feet an hour, making it an exceptionally fast way to perform floorcare.
In addition, the TURI Surface Solutions Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell recently conducted a series of independent tests comparing the cleaning effectiveness of the AutoVac cleaning system with conventional floor cleaning methods such as using a microfiber mop and using an automatic scrubber.
The tests revealed that "the average reduction in ATP… [with] the AutoVac system was 98 percent."* This high reading was nearly identical to the effectiveness level of a typical but far more expensive automatic scrubber and twice that of a microfiber mop.
According to Matt Morrison, Communications Manager for Kaivac, since its introduction, the entire OmniFlex system has been well received in a variety of industries from restaurants and healthcare to schools and offices.
"We expect the same to be true of the AutoVac system," adds Morrison. "It's a [floor] machine whose time has come and I think cleaning professionals in scores of industries will find the system both effective and innovative."
