Jansan Manufacturers Applauded by Healthy Schools Campaign
Chicago, IL - April 5, 2011 - The Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC) has just released the winners of its Green Cleaning Awards for Schools and Universities.
'These schools and [school] districts are making Green cleaning a priority, creating a healthier environment for students, teachers and staff,' says Sara Klinzing Director of External Affairs for HSC.
HSC is an independent not-for-profit organization based in Chicago. It is now considered a leading authority on healthy school environments and a voice for people who care about the environment, children, and education.
As part of the awards announcement, some leading manufacturers in the professional cleaning industry were applauded for their contribution to Green and healthy cleaning and because their products are being used by some of the honored schools.
Two of these organizations include the following:
- Kaivac for the No-Touch Cleaning® system. Award winning schools and school districts using the Kaivac system are located in Columbia, MO; Green Chimneys, NY; Newark, NJ; the University of Georgia and the University of Washington.
- Enviro-Solutions, a leading manufacturer of Green cleaning chemicals. The honored school using carpet and floor care chemicals manufactured by Enviro-Solution is Purdue University in Indiana.
'Our hats go out to these schools and school districts,' says Tom Morrison, vice president of marketing for Kaivac. 'With all the economic constraints they are currently struggling with, they are still making the health of their staff and students a top priority.'
Adds Mike Sawchuck, vice president of Enviro-Solutions, 'each year, more schools get on the Green cleaning bandwagon. All of them should be honored for their focus on health and the environment.'
According to Klinzing, in 2010 there was a 50 percent increase in the number of schools entering the competition. Additionally, they came from all sections of the country.
