The original developer of the No-Touch Cleaning® system, Kaivac, Inc., is introducing a new, more cost-effective version of its No-Touch Cleaning machines.
Called the 1215, this new model is ideal for use in smaller settings such as hotels, restaurants, day care centers and nursing homes. It is designed to provide the capabilities and performance of the company's other machines, but at a considerable cost savings.
According to Matt Morrison, Communications Manager for Kaivac, one key change that makes this price reduction possible is the new, less expensive pressure pump system used in the 1215. "The pump is typically the most expensive part of a no-touch cleaning system," Morrison says. "Our goal is to use a pump that performs well but reduces [the machine's] costs significantly."
Morrison adds that a few of the "bells and whistles" found on the company's other no-touch cleaning systems have been removed from this new model, and some accessories that come standard with other units are now available as options, which have also helped lower the machine's price tag.
"We are passing these savings on directly to the end-customer," he says. "We believe the 1215 is the ?best value' spray-and-vac system on the market today."
About the System
According to Morrison, the 1215 has 150 psi and includes features such as:
- HEPA-filtered exhausts and blower capability
- a "black box" engine compartment that users can remove for rapid repair and exchange
- a design that fits a variety of janitorial carts
- chemical metering and injection systems similar to indoor pressure washers
- a built-in wet/vac system for removing cleaning solution, rinse water and contaminants
According to studies performed by ISSA and other organizations, no-touch machines like the 1215 reduce the time required to clean surfaces by 33 percent to as much as 66 percent compared to conventional cleaning systems?a significant cost-saving benefit as well. "Improving [custodial] worker productivity has always been a concern for end users, but it is paramount now," adds Morrison. "The 1215 is the right machine, at the right price, and the right time, addressing today's cost-conscious cleaning needs."
